In Teacher Layoffs, Seniority Rules. But Should It?

School Sports Teams Face Cuts

As states across the country cut school budgets to try to reduce large deficits, team sports are taking a hit. In New Jersey, local school districts have been forced to eliminate sports for middle schoolers and freshmen, lay off coaches, and reduce the number of games played within a season. At more affluent schools, parents are stepping in and footing the bill.

Installing contributed modules or plugins - MoodleDocs

Module installation

To install a contributed module:

1. You must have access to the server containing Moodle. This can be direct access, through a network or to a remote server through Internet with an FTP client, you can't do it from "inside" Moodle itself. (There are many free FTP programs like FileZilla that can be used. If you use FTP, you will need to know [from the server provider] the ID and password and maybe a couple more things. Once it is setup, it's as easy as other file management.)
2. Download the zip file and unzip it to your moodle/mod directory.
3. In your browser, go to your Moodle site:

Who Needs Google? Students Still Use Phone Hotline

Forty years ago, University of Kansas officials set up a phone-based information hotline to quell rumors after the student union was firebombed and two teens were shot and killed. Surprisingly, the hotline is still being used and averages 200 calls a day.
